The Fourth Annual Community Emergency Preparedness Fair Is Planned From 3 To 7 P.M On Saturday, Jan. 25
Organized by the Pocatello East Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the event will provide practical preparedness information about water, clothing, shelter, food, cooking with food storage, sanitation/first aid, recreational/education, emergency plan/communications, special needs and circumstances, and county and city agencies.
Del Symons of Pocatello serves as chair of the organizing committee for the event. The committee has been meeting since October 2013 to plan the Emergency Preparedness Fair.
The format of the fair will be an open forum that will allow freedom to come and go as needed and to spend as much time as desired. There will be booths set up covering all aspects of emergency preparedness. Each ward in the stake has accepted an assignment to be responsible for a booth in a particular area.
The Pocatello Fire Department, the Pocatello Police Department and Neighborhood Watch will provide information regarding emergency preparedness. The Stake Relief Society will feature a tasting table and recipes of foods that can be made using food storage staples such as rice.
