Spring is in the air and we invite you to come to Historic Old Town Pocatello for Art Walk this Friday from 5-8pm. Along with a variety of art, live music, and food we have a couple of special events planned:
The community is invited to come downtown on Friday for the May First Friday Art Walk. This month we have a special art attraction. Local kids will begin creating sidewalk chalk art at 2:30pm throughout Old Town. Drawing will continue until 5pm when Art Walk begins. As you stroll through our shops, galleries and restaurants you will have the opportunity to see examples of work from up and coming talent in our community. The Art Walk locations that will be featuring sidewalk chalk art is available at www.oldtownpocatello.com . Mark your calendars and be sure to come to this month’s First Friday Art Walk, this Friday from 5-8pm.
Join the Relight the Night Committee for the celebration and relighting of the historic Chopsticks Café neon sign. The sign and restaurant are located at 228 S. Main. The relighting will take place following Art Walk at approximately 8:15pm.
Art Walk Locations – Eastside Old Town
Portneuf Valley Brewing, 615 S. 1st, will show works by painter Nikyra Capson, with a beautiful series of paintings of women from her undergraduate show. Music that evening will be singer/songwriter John Martin.
Pocatello Co-op, 308 E. Center, will host Pat Bingham-Zoopsia, cards, prints and paintings.
Art Walk Locations – Westside Old Town
The Shady Lady, 655 N. Arthur, will be featuring artist Ron Lewis.
Theory Salon and Spa, 501 N Main Street, Grand Opening!! Will be featuring Mountain Mystic Gems handmade raw crystal pendants, hair accessories, and rings by Mary Jane’s Gems. This evening is also their soft opening open house party and they invite everyone to join them between 6 and 9pm for samples, drinks, snacks and giveaways!
The Pocatello Art Center, 444 N. Main, will host their Annual Members’ Judged Show. Local artists of all levels will share their best work in a variety of media, including painting, drawing, mixed media, three dimensional art, and photography. Judging this year’s show are Idaho artists Tim Norton, Anne Merkley and Bill Clegg. A collection of miniature paintings by Marilyn Smith will also be on display. The show will continue through May in the Pocatello Art Center Gallery. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10 am to 4 pm.
American Family Insurance, 427 N. Main, Ste A, will be featuring artist Pennie Wolf.
Main Street Music, 401 N. Main, will host Bob Forrest who will play folk music on his homemade ukulele.
Great Harvest Bread, 250 N. Main, to host ISU Artist Collet Stosich.
Old Town Mercantile and Antiques, 134 N. Main, will welcome Cutter Cornforth and a show of his photograph.
X- Caliber Cuts & Coloring, 123 N. Main St. will be offering paraffin dips and karaoke .Studio 118, 118 N. Main, will be showing work of local metal artists.
Gate City Fine Arts Gallery, 315 W. Center St., will host pen and ink drawings by Michael Spraggin.
Black Rail Antiques, 312 West Center, will welcome Rail City Jazz musicians and artist, Gabrielle Sivitz, still life – small works.
Orange and Black Store, 123 S. Main, will welcome a local artist.
