BOISE, ID – Idaho’s Democratic Legislators would like to extend a warm welcome to President Obama on his visit to Boise. We are honored that he chose the Gem State following his annual State of the Union address.
While Idaho Democrats differ from some of the policies of the National Democratic Party, we welcome this opportunity to discuss issues of importance to all Idahoans with the President of the United States.
Idaho Democrats are proud of our long-standing commitment to investments in education and we applaud the president’s comments in support of college education.
We commend the president for leading a national discussion about ensuring that workers prosper and share in the growing economy. This topic is of particular importance to Idahoans, who struggle with low wages requiring multiple jobs to make ends meet.
While the President’s visit will be brief, we invite him to return soon to Idaho and spend time getting to know our people and the spectacular mountains, farmlands, and wild rivers that make Idaho the gem of the west.
