SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Today is Apple’s WWDC (Worldwide Developer’s Conference) at Moscone Center, in San Francisco, CA, and the rumor mill is out in full force.
The keynote will kick off at 10 AM PT (12PM Central, 1 PM Eastern, 6 PM London) and should be full of all kinds of new things. Apple CEO Tim Cook will take the stage at the Worldwide Developers Conference to unveil everything they’ve worked so hard to keep secret for the past many months. If you want to watch the keynote live, you can do so from Apple’s website at http://www.apple.com/apple-events/june-2013/.
Some of the rumors floating around have been that Apple will release iOS7, OS X 10.9, iRadio, a new iPhone, iPad, and announce what a lot of us have been waiting for, a new Mac Pro. Sadly at this point, it’s all speculation and rumor.
Two things we can almost guarantee being announced today are iOS7 and OS X 10.9. Normally, we’d have to say it’s foolish to guarantee any kind of news from Apple unless they issue a direct press release, but with the pictures already online of the banners flying high at Moscone Center, it’s pretty safe (never 100% safe) to say iOS7 and OS X 10.9 will drop today.
As far as the rumored iRadio, I’m not too excited about this, but it could be something new to watch. According to the rumor mill it will be released today and with recent developments such as Apple locking up deals with record companies like Warner Music Groupand selling audio ads — indicate a push to have the service completed in time for WWDC.Sources indicated to Bloomberg that the service would focus on iAds to keep the streaming service completely free, like Pandora. Pandora’s CFO Mike Herring has downplayed the news.
The new Mac Pro, while totally speculation at this point, might actually drop today. Those of us in the professional industries that use them are really hoping so. The Mac Pro hasn’t had a refresh in quite a while, with the last refresh being very minor. It’s now gotten to the point where the new iMac’s are as fast or faster (depending on the options you order) than the Mac Pro. With Intel releasing the ‘Haswell’ processors a few weeks ago, this would be the perfect time to see a new Mac Pro. The odds are in our favor for this one to actually happen today.
As far as the other items rumored, well you can never really tell with Apple, but we don’t really expect a new iPhone or iPad today. Possibly a new Macbook or Retina iMac, but even that seems a bit off. But, then again this is Apple so anythings possible!
